The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510-2021U is a 15.4″ model of the PC maker’s new IdeaPad notebook family. The Y510 is Intel’s “Santa Rosa” notebook platform based. It comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor running at speeds up to 1.73GHz.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510-2021U features the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, 5400 rpm hard drive up to 250 GB in size volume, 2 GB of system memory which expandable to 4 GB, and a DVD burner.

The laptop’s 15.4″ display has a WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This laptop also incorporates the Dolby Home Theater sound system with four speakers and a subwoofer. A built-in 1.3 megapixel web camera which provides face recognition functionality when used with a special software called VeriFace. For communications, this laptop features the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Wi-Fi module, an Ethernet LAN port, and a 56K modem.

For connectivity, this laptop has numerous options. It has three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire port, VGA and S-Video outputs and a 6-in-1 media card reader. Design novelties in this laptop include a frameless screen panel, the Light Weave Texture and touch-sensitive multimedia controls. The system weighs is 6.4 pounds and provides approximately four hours of battery life with a standard 6-cell battery.
